Our Programs

Practical tech skills. Real community connections.

Pūpūkahi i holomua — unite to move forward. We run small, hands-on workshops that help people in Hawaiʻi put AI and blockchain to practical use, for their work, their businesses, and their communities. No technical background required.

AI you can use this week

Everyday AI is our ongoing workshop series on using AI tools for real tasks: writing, research, planning, and saving time at work. Sessions stay small, so you get hands-on help instead of a lecture.

We've also run Vibe Coding for Business, a workshop where business owners describe a tool in plain language and use AI to build it — a simple website, a form, a dashboard — without becoming a developer.

    What you'll practice

    • Getting clear, useful answers from AI tools
    • Using AI for everyday work and personal tasks
    • Turning an idea into a working prototype (Vibe Coding)
    • Knowing when AI output needs a second look

Who it's for: Adults and small-business owners at any comfort level with technology.

    Exploring traceability for Kona coffee

Hawaiʻi law requires coffee labeled Kona to contain at least 51% Kona beans, but there is no agreed way to verify it. Counterfeit coffee has hurt local farmers and made retailers wary.

With coaching from our mentors, University of Hawaiʻi students developed an interface and smart contract to explore how blockchain could support coffee provenance. The project demonstrates an approach to tracking origin information; deployment status is still being confirmed.

What was built: a prototype interface and smart contract that record a coffee batch's journey — farm, processing, roasting.

Who it's for: Hawaiʻi farmers, roasters, and businesses interested in traceability, and students who want real-world project experience.

    Vibe Coding for Business

    April 17, 2026 · Honolulu

Local business owners and builders spent an evening turning ideas into working tools. We started with the difference between a website and an app, then watched a live build before everyone opened a laptop and started their own — a booking page, a simple storefront, a sign-up form.

No one needed to know how to code. Every participant left with a live link to share, and the confidence to keep building.
