    Who we are

    Pūpūkahi Tech Foundation is a Hawaiʻi-based nonprofit offering free technology education. Questions about this policy or your data? Email contact@pupukahitech.org.

    Information we collect

    • Email list signups: your email address, optional first name, the consent wording you agreed to, the date of consent, and the page you signed up from.
    • Forms and course access: name, email, and anything you choose to tell us when you volunteer, request a workshop, or unlock course materials.
    • Donations: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We never see or store your full card details.
    • Site analytics and ad measurement: aggregate page views, referrer, and device type via Google Analytics, and — only with your consent where required — conversion measurement through Google Ads, used only to improve the site and our outreach.

    How we use it

    We use your information to send the newsletter and workshop invitations you asked for, to respond to your inquiries, to run and improve our programs, and to meet nonprofit reporting obligations. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. How analytics and advertising measurement are used — and your choices about them — is described below.

    Audience matching for our own outreach

    If you subscribe to our email list, we may securely share your email address with our advertising partners (such as Google) so we can show our own ads to people who already asked to hear from us, reach people with similar interests, or exclude existing subscribers from signup campaigns. The list is transmitted in hashed form, is used only to match against the partner's own users for our campaigns, and is not shared with other advertisers. We only include subscribers who opted in to our emails, and you can be removed from these audiences at any time by unsubscribing or emailing us.

    Email consent, frequency, and opting out

    We only email you after you affirmatively opt in by checking the consent box. Expect roughly 1–2 emails per month. Every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can unsubscribe anytime on our unsubscribe page or by emailing us. Unsubscribing is honored promptly; we keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again. Transactional messages you request (such as a donation receipt) are not marketing emails.

    Cookies, analytics, and advertising measurement

    We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google) to understand, in aggregate, which pages and programs are useful, and Google Ads conversion measurement to see whether our outreach efforts are working — for example, whether an ad led someone to join our email list. Where required by law (such as in the EU/UK), nothing beyond strictly necessary functionality runs until you accept via our consent banner. In the United States, analytics runs by default and you may opt out of advertising measurement at any time.

    Your choices: use the consent banner or the “Cookie settings” link in the footer to accept or decline at any time — declining turns off Google Ads measurement and, where required, analytics cookies too. Your choice is stored in your browser and applies until you change it. California residents: declining is how you opt out of the “sharing” of information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we honor opt-out preference signals where feasible.     Service providers

    We use trusted processors to operate the site and communications — including our hosting and database provider, our transactional email provider, Stripe for payments, and Google (Analytics 4 and Google Ads) for aggregate analytics and outreach measurement. They may process your data only on our instructions.

    Your rights and retention

    You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing contact@pupukahitech.org. We keep subscriber records for as long as you remain subscribed and only as long as needed afterward. Our site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information without a parent or guardian's involvement.

    Changes

    If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and, when appropriate, notify subscribers by email.
